Carthage College Model United Nations Brand
As the Carthage College Model United Nations group continued to grow, they were in need of a new identity system. I created a new logo to represent the organization as well as other collateral to be used at conferences and events.

Carthage College Model United Nations Logo
Carthage College Model United Nations team, also known as Model UN or MUN, is an educational simulation and/or academic activity in which students can learn about diplomacy, international relations, and the United Nations. Since Model UN is simulating diplomacy of the United Nations, it made sense to craft the Carthage logo after the actual United Nations logo. The UN logo is surrounded by two olive branches, which represent peace. From my research, it appeared that many other Model UN teams or UN affiliated organizations utilized those olive branches, so I decided to use them in order to unify Carthage’s team with other Model UN groups.
For the center, instead of using a world map like the United Nations logo, I chose to represent Carthage’s hometown of Kenosha by drawing a silhouette of the iconic Kenosha lighthouse and the waves of Lake Michigan crashing into the pier.
The color scheme of the UN is light blue and white, so I chose to keep those two colors, but also added a navy accent color to be used throughout the Carthage College MUN brand.

Collateral for Conferences
Carthage College Model UN hosts an annual high school conference each fall. In order to help the conference run smoothly, I created placards, name tags, pins and branded notepads that could be distributed to the students at the conference.
It is important that the country names on the placards are legible because whenever a student wishes to speak during the conference, they must raise their placard to be called on by the chair. In order to add some of the CCMUN brand, I added a subtle watermark of the logo to the lefthand corner, and kept the country name in a nice bold, san-serif font.
The name tags are also an integral piece of collateral during the conference. Due to the large amount of students present, it is important that each person has a ID with their name, represented country and session of the UN, and high school they are representing. Oftentimes, students collect their name tags as a souvenir from each conference they attend, so I wanted to make Carthage’s extra special. I included the logo watermark like on the placard, but I also designed a custom lanyard and pins that had the Carthage College MUN logo.
Note passing is very important during conferences because oftentimes not all decisions can be made during the unmoderated caucuses. I put a Carthage College MUN letterhead on a notepad in order for students to each have a notepad to use.

T-Shirts
I also created t-shirts for the Carthage Model United Nations members to wear in order to represent the organization.
