I enjoy running and I am part of a team that does Ragnar races. Ragnar races are long distance, team, overnight running relays races in scenic locations across the country.
One of the ways to represent your team is with t-shirts, so in the past two Ragnar races I’ve done, I created t-shirt designs to represent our team “Alien Truth.”
This race was for a Ragnar Trail race, so I decided to play with the silhouettes of the trees and added a winding path to represent the trail that we would be running through. Since our team name is “Alien Truth” I decided to have an alien peeking out from behind a tree and having a flying saucer in the background.
For the Ragnar race I did that started in San Francisco and ended in Napa, I designed an alien holding a glass of wine since that was our prize for finishing the race was spending the next couple days exploring wine country. For the typeface, I chose to use a funky font that had an alien-like vibe.
For the front of the shirt, I altered the original Alien Truth logo slightly to have the spaceship be shaped like “Cloud Gate” or “The Bean” since our team was all from Chicago. The ship also has the four stars to represent the Chicago flag.
